On Remembrance Sunday the band was at Stoke on Trent Cenotaph providing the music for the city’s outdoor service. We also played hymns to entertain the public prior to the service as well as a march for the parade at the end. Well done to Megan who played ‘The Last Post’ brilliantly and received many lovely comments on social media after the event. It was amazing how she ended her playing just as the church bells began to chime 11 o’clock.
The following was received from the Lord Mayor’s department: On behalf of the Lord Mayor of the City of Stoke-on-Trent (Councillor Lyn Sharpe) and the Elections and Member Support Team, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Trentham Brass Band for your valuable contribution towards making this year’s Civic Service of Remembrance such a special event. Can you also pass on our special thanks to the young lady who played the bugle.
